OREGON DMV PRACTICE TEST

An Oregon driver’s license is a state-issued card that allows you lawfully operate a motor vehicle legally. The card will display your full name, date of birth, mailing address, signature, photo, and physical description. Keep in mind that you must have a DMV license whenever you drive a motor vehicle. To obtain an Oregon DMV driver’s license, you are required to excel at knowledge and driving examinations which are administered by the state’s office only and are related to the rules of the road and driving skills. 

 

1. Who needs to obtain the Oregon DMV driver’s license?

Oregon DMV driver’s license is required for every resident who operates a motor vehicle. Thus, it is a must for you if you want to drive your car in Oregon. However, there are some age restrictions you must know:

  • Between 15 and 17 years old: You are allowed to own a DMV driver permit if you complete the Learner Permit course and have proof of driving under the control of your parents. This permit expires in 3 years.
  • At least 21 years old: You are allowed to obtain a DMV Driver’s License after passing the written and skill test.

 

2. What’s on the Oregon DMV written test?

The OR DMV written test contains 35 multiple choice questions about Oregon road rules, signs, and markings as well as other traffic laws. You are required to have at least 28 correct answers to pass the written test. (80%) In addition, the test will be administered on computers, thus, you should practice at home first to get used to its format.

4. What papers or documents do you need for the Oregon DMV test?

In order to obtain an Oregon DMV driver’s license, there will be some things you must notice before taking the test. Those documents might take you a long time to prepare, including:

  • Your legitimate identity: Identification card, a Birth certificate, or a Passport
  • Proof of your current residence (can be your Resident card or Resident certificate)
  • a copy of your Social security card

 

5. How much is the Oregon DMV test?

To successfully own an Oregon DMV driver’s license, there are several steps and fees you need to pay. We listed here some possible payments that should be covered:

  • Instruction permit (optional, only for those who are under 21): $23.50
  • Drive test fee: $9,00
  • License fee: $60,00

 

6. What happens if you fail the Oregon DMV test?

You can try 3 times for both written and skill tests. If you fail, you can retake it another day and pay $5,00. However, if you can not pass after 3 tries, you are required to wait 28 days to retake the test. You must apply from the beginning and pay for both the drive test fee and the License fee.
